There are three VII Academy core courses that together form the Program for Narrative and Documentary Practice and are all offered tuition-free to accepted students:
- Beginner Level 1
- Intermediate Level 2
- Advanced Level 3 (planned for summer 2023)
Participants first undertake the Level 1 course in photography before progressing to Level 2 and Level 3.
The Level 1 core course is divided into two modules, each taught through live online sessions over 6 weeks. The syllabus is built around multiple mini-assignments to be done by students from one week to the next.
Over the past three years we have operated Level 1 courses for people from South and Southeast Asia, the Pacific region, Central and Eastern Europe, the Former Yugoslavia and Albania, both English-speaking and French-speaking Africa, Native Arabic speakers, and South and Central America.
