“Be Bold: It’s up to you” is a program for young leaders that will help young people from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro acquire knowledge and skills to create space for social action. The space for societal changes, no matter how many they may be, is not assigned; it is created and conquered. Applications for the program are open!
If you are between 18 and 30 years old, from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and want to get involved in the processes of improving your community and social change through writing, advocacy, activism, politics, association, education or art — this is the opportunity for you.
You have the ideas, energy and desire to get involved in processes that bring change, but you don’t know where to start? Do you want to deal with topics that move you? Are you looking for allies and need a team that you can count on? Do you want to learn how to put ideas into action, as well as create and build something of your own or learn how to do it together with others?
If the answer to some of these questions is yes, and you want to find out what is available to you and how to use it, then apply for our program.
Together with the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR), we created the program “Be Bold: It’s up to you”, which is intended for courageous young people from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina who want to be active participants in social changes.
The initiative targets young people as a key factor in the process of developing and improving democratic culture. We want to teach you how to put your ideas into practice while acquiring practical skills that will help you contribute to the development and improvement of your community. We are looking for courageous and determined participants who, by participating in the program, will acquire knowledge and skills that will enable them to better understand the role and work of civil society.
A total of 40 young people will have the opportunity to participate in the intensive hybrid program starting on February 19 for 6 weeks. The course is led by top experts, artists, andaward-winning activists as well as professors from Northeastern University and Harvard in the USA. The first, second, and fifth weeks are online, while the third and fourth weeks are live in Belgrade (March 4-12, 2023). The initiative covers all travel expenses including accommodation and food.
Some of the topics include:
- Project proposal-writing and management
- Budget writing and planning
- Storytelling, communication and promotion
- What is social activism, and how to initiate/create change
- The role of the media and media literacy
As part of the program, you will create and pitch a project. The best ideas will be funded by BOLD.
Be the change you want to see in society!
To apply, please send a CV and motivational letter, which should contain a simple description of the idea that is important to you, (max. 500 words) to [email protected]. Residents of Serbia, Montenegro, or Bosnia-Herzegovina who are between 18 and 30 years old are eligible.
